land purchase project (FUNDRAISING)

By MUBIRU SAMUEL | FOUNDER/CEO

Dear Friend,

Dear Friend and all well-wishers,

Heart4Humanity-Uganda is non-profit organization that was established to help support orphaned and vulnerable children access basic needs i.e. better health services, education, and shelter among others. H4HU fosters a dignified and protected life for children who have fallen victim to the scourge of poverty, solitude and are at the risk of HIV/AIDS. We aim at restoring hope and lobby opportunities for OVC in Uganda by equipping them with the necessary survival skills and knowledge.

With the population of Uganda estimated at 47.4 million people and population growth rate of 3.32 percent per annum with over 70% youth; the country is immensely affected by over-dependence, which stifles development. As a result, the well-being of such a population is affected through problems due to poverty, low resource base that puts significant pressure on the delivery of basic social services, particularly to children; demand for food, healthcare and education services is growing while access to education and healthcare services at the community level remains limited more so in the rural areas where this project seeks to be initiated. Primary school retention remains a challenge for the Government due to high dropout rates. Consequently, the transition rate from primary to secondary and tertiary levels has been low and very few children are now likely to complete primary and continue to higher levels of education.

The Orphans and Vulnerable Children Situation Analysis Report, 2009 estimated that nearly half (48%) of all Ugandan orphans are a result of HIV/AIDS. Up to 43% of all children (7.3 million) live in moderately vulnerable situation, while 8% (1.3 million) live in critically vulnerable situation. Approximately 14% of children in Uganda below 18 years of age are orphans, among which 20% of them are aged 3–15 years.

HIV/AIDS has over time been noted as one of the major factors that has orphaned children living them hopeless and helpless with little or no support to sustain and provide them with basic needs.

Ugandan communities have traditionally absorbed orphans within the extended family system.  H4HU is seeking to stand in the gap by providing information, psycho social support, education, accommodation and medical care to some of these children.

2022-2023, the turn up has not been good. So far, we have raised $552 of $50000 thought this duration. 100% of this donation is directly matched on land purchase project. If we purchase this Agricultural land, we will be able to farm our own food to feed our own people and the vulnerable children.

We really need co-oprate donors for us to achieve this project in time. Heart4Humanity is ready to serve with your involvement.

As the year come to an end, we celebrate x-mas like any other people around the world. Christmas is about sharing, and these past days we have continued our tradition of sharing the little we get with those who are less privileged. Aside from supporting the victims of state brutality, we have shared food items with several other comrades as well as Secretariat staff.

But this post is not about us. It is about the many people who have reached out to us to offer financial support and food items to enable our welfare teams do this.

In a very special way, I want to appreciate the H4HU Ambassadors in the USA for raising funds to purchase food items for some of our people who are dealing with different personal struggles. THANK YOU.

There are others who prefer not to be known but have supported different comrades to enable them go through this festive season. THANK YOU.

I encourage you all to do the same thing. Whatever little you have, please share with those who have nothing. Let's extend kindness across Uganda.

We wish you a nice x-mas and a happy new year.
