Empowering Others, Building Himself

By JH Yuen | Project Leader

Syarif, a 23-year-old marketing student from UiTM Kedah, stands out as an active and passionate recipient of the Didik-Kasih EduCare Program under Great Vision Charity Association. Guided by his personal motto, "There's no advantage to hurrying through," Syarif approaches life and learning with patience and intention. To him, education is more than a stepping stone to better opportunities—it’s a lens through which he seeks to understand the world more deeply.

Despite facing his own challenges, Syarif remains deeply committed to giving back. He regularly participates in charity drives and community outreach programs, embodying the spirit of service. One notable example was his involvement in the Community Day event at a low-cost flat area in Kuala Lumpur that houses urban poor families, where he traveled all the way from Kedah to lend a hand. From managing logistics to engaging directly with needy families, the experience opened his eyes to the widespread need for support and the profound impact of even the smallest acts of kindness.

Syarif’s leadership qualities came to the fore during the Didik-Kasih EduCare Team Building 2025, where he served as one of the team leaders. Despite enduring a three-hour motorcycle ride for the site visit, he embraced his role wholeheartedly. The experience not only sharpened his skills in leadership and event planning but also strengthened his bonds with fellow program participants.

His dedication was further evident during the Volunteer Bonding program, which he attended despite a packed academic schedule and recent travel commitments. The session offered him a deeper understanding of the organisation’s mission and a chance to connect meaningfully with other volunteers.

Syarif’s journey through the Didik-Kasih EduCare Program reflects the growth of a young individual who is evolving not just academically, but also emotionally and socially. His story is one of resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to uplift others—even as he continues to shape his own future.
