This project will assist 40 underprivileged students who are pursuing tertiary studies by providing them with startup assistance and monthly allowance throughout the period of assistance to cover their living expenses so that they can stay focus on their tertiary studies. The program also aims to influence and inspire successful applicants to give back to the society by getting them involved in and organising charity projects.
Many tertiary studies students from needy families or orphanages face challenges to cater for their living expenses while they remain in university, as they still need to figure out ways to pay for meals and accommodation. This project aims to assist these students with monthly study allowance throughout the period of assistance to cover their living expenses so that they can concentrate on studying. The project will also inspire the students to give back by volunteering in charity projects.
Addressing SDG Target 4.B to substantially expand the number of scholarships available to developing countries for enrolment in higher education, including vocational training and information and communications technology, technical, engineering and scientific programmes and SDG Target 4.7 to ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, 40 students will be provided with study aid assistance for 12 months to address the issue.
This project will ensure that the 40 students get to concentrate on graduating from their studies with their living expenses being taken care of, so that they can then contribute back to the society and upscale themselves and their families and break the poverty cycle with the qualifications obtained.
