In Costa Rica, Physical Violence against Minors have been decreed as an Epidemic by our highest authorities on Health and Children Care. As in every other epidemic, vaccination is vital. Our stage play MI CASA ESCONDIDA (My Hidden House), is an emotional re-education vaccine that can serve to audiences up to 400 people, touring across neighborhoods and communities all across our country. The present project seeks to put MI CASA ESCONDIDA back in action, helping to prevent this disease.
Back at 2012, Costa Rican authorities On Health and Children Care decreed a State of Emergency due to a VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS EPIDEMIC, that has been affecting minors all over the country. Figures are alarming, every year the National Children Hospital tends to more and more kids, victims of physical abuse. Earlier this year we all were shocked by the headlines in the papers, yet another child had perished victim of this disease.
Previous to the declaration of the epidemic, we, at Skene Foundation for Human Development trough Arts and Culture, had become aware of this fact, and created a tool for sensitization and awareness rising about this important issue. The stage play MI CASA ESCONDIDA (My Hidden House), is an emotional re-education vaccine that can serve to audiences up to 400 people at the same time; touring across neighborhoods and communities all around our country, addressing parents and potential parents.
Help us vaccinate our country against this disease. With your support to this project in this first stage we will be revamping and producing again all the stage implements for this play; setting the platform to the national tour; and visiting up to 18 low income communities, where this problem runs even deeper. That is about 7200 parents and potential parents being re-educated. Please, let's help together to stop this epidemic. The tour will continue after that all over the country.
