Girls mostly in rural are denied access to basic education and have to walk up to 16 km per day to go to school. Some families who cannot afford sending all their children to school prioritize investment in the education of their sons over that of their daughters. poverty inhibit access to basic feminine hygiene items and girls skip classes. When they fail to progress in school, they join various forms of employment sector many which expose them to hazardous, some prostitutes & many in marriages
The project helps poor students to be conscious towards education which will reduce school drop-outs. We teach and train girls life skills, importance of education, HIV/AIDS prevention, Rights, provide learning materials, school fees, skill training and basic necessities. We help Mothers through a Mother Support Group in which we kick-start their projects that are sustainable and be able to raise their families and motivate their children to go to school
The project will help girls, parents, traditional leaders and government by creating awareness about the danger of early child marriages and the benefits of girls' extended education. If all women completed primary education, maternal deaths would be reduced by 70%, saving almost 50 000 lives.
