It is undouble that COVID-19 has hit hard on not just the health sector, but every facet of society. In Sierra Leone, Socio-economic state of women with disabilities who are mainly single mothers is appalling. In these difficult times when lockdowns and stay home measures are instituted, women with disabilities suffered with starvation, with barely little or nothing to eat with their children. Donating to a fund that will provide food for these hungry single disable mothers will save lives.
COVID-19 precautionary measures in Sierra Leone has greatly affected women with disabilities who are mainly single parents. It has greatly affected their livelihood because the few of them who managed to fain for themselves can no more do so due to the COVID-19 restrictions. while the large majority who depend on the bounty of charity fine it hard to survive.The fear now is that, if they survive coronavirus pandemic, they may not survive clutches of hunger.
Stay home food support for women with disabilities will save the lives of starving women with disabilities as it will provide them with food that can sustain them for reasonable period. It will also draw the attention of like minded partners to the social needs of these extremely vulnerable group.
This project will save the lives of 1,000 women with disabilities who are single parent, and who would have died as a result of starvation.
