Continuation of Star City Models Project; a joint project with YMCA-Gabrovo, Planetarium-Gabrovo and Club Icarus 2010-Sevlievo. Practical training with children between 10 and 15. Lecturers will teach the children astronomy, astrophysics, astronautics, space engineering, rocket building and general knowledge about space. Based on gained experience from the first project and the implemented good practices, we will double the number of participants (from 15 to 30) within the same budget
We know how harmful the constant TV watching and smartphone use is for the children. This leads to attention problems. Children lose their ability to focus, understand or memorize. The constant flow of instant, easily accessible information leads to brain changes, decrease in cognitive ability, loss of knowledge, practical habits and difficulties or inability to acquire new skills and knowledge. A 2008 UN report states 90% of the children have problem-solving issues and 98% cannot work in teams
The project is aimed at children between 10 and 15. Lecturers will explain in an understandable way the facts about space, planets, the Solar System, space travel, terraforming and space colonization. The goal is to invoke the children's interest, to help them use and develop their imagination, to dream, to think logically, to work in teams, to gain knowledge, to learn about the main space travel issues and the colonization of Mars and to have their own ideas and solutions to the problems
The goal is to establish a sustainable community in our town in joint efforts with YMCA. The sessions held within 3 months will be free of charge. This way underprivileged children can also participate. After 3 months the children would gain knowledge and experience and we will provoke their desire to develop further in any space or new technology related field. We will teach them how think to logically, outside the box, how to work in teams, dream and use their imagination
