More than 65 million people worldwide are displaced due to war and violence. That's 24 people who flee from their homes every minute, the largest number since WWII. Yet the world is becoming less and less willing to support these stateless people. Now more than ever do we need to stand up and change the narrative about refugees. It's time we get organized in doing so-- help us change the narrative.
With national budgets being cut and half, we have to do more with less resources. After working for years with populations in the US, Central America, and Greece, and seeing inefficiencies in services and lack of training in camps and shelters, it became clear a global strategy is needed to create high impact programs so refugees can survive and thrive. Why recreate the wheel every time a new war breaks out?
Developed by a network of experts, RAIN International is creating a resource hub for programs around the world serving refugee populations. Our ever-expanding international network of professionals provides innovative consultation, training, resources, and technical assistance to shelters, camps and resettlement programs. RAIN pushes the boundaries of traditional aid organizations who market "saving," and instead recognizes strategies are needed to address a common struggle for human rights.
Our strategy prioritizes the long term wellbeing and success of refugee communities. After years of working in shelters and camps to pilot trainings, programs, and consultations around the world, we have received overwhelming feedback regarding how much our organized hub of resources is needed. We do not want to depend on grants and have our impact be delayed or undercut by bureaucracy-- your donations will help us collect the resources needed to improve conditions for refugees today.
