The project will fund a play area and new play equipment within the extensive school grounds , these will be available for the wider community to use during school holidays and holiday club times to support local working parents and instill healthy living principles and organised sport/exercise activities to keep local children fit.

Challenge

Increasing levels of obesity amongst children in Chesterfield and decreasing amounts of safe play areas locally. Also increasing numbers of working parents with less time to spend with children so this will support our vision of providing cost effective holiday clubs with a structured health and exercise plan led by the school's Sport department and trained coaches.

Solution

Instill in children a sense of high self -esteem through teamwork and healthy eating and living principles through structured play , games and sport

Long-Term Impact

We hope to provide sport and play facilities within the wider community for up to 150 children in the first year and then year on year.
