It is estimated that over a million children are out of school in Zambia. Many parent/guardians fail to take their children to school. We enroll these children from poor communities and provide them with both primary and junior secondary education. 450 students are currently enrolled with Destiny Community Schools in Matero. It is our goal for the orphaned and vulnerable children to be given an education which will empower them to break out of the cycle of poverty.
Over a million children in Zambia are out of school. A number of them are coming from very poor families which cannot afford to send them to school. They spend their days working on the streets, washing cars and also just begging from people. Many vulnerable children from Matero Constituency face all of kinds of challenges. They are denied basic human rights especially the right to education and so they are denied a better tomorrow.
This project will sponsor the Primary and Junior secondary education to the children coming from very poor families. All their major expenses from child identification, enrollment , uniforms, tuition fees, school meals and textbooks will be covered and their academic and personal progress will monitored closely. We are giving a great opportunity to the vulnerable children to get out of poverty through education.
450 poor Children will get access to education. This will enhance & Improve their future job prospects. With a quality education, it will improve the standards of living for children and their families. We also expect increased school enrollment in our school by making communities realize the value of education.
