Marion receiving some school books
Marion receiving some school books

Last year it was barely two months when students returned to scool when the government closed schools down due to the outbreak of a new delta variant, since then the students have been learning online, the donations you gave during that season enable us print, photocopy notes sent online plus the internet to connect Marion to the teachers and the rest of the students, we are pleased you continued supporting Marion even during the lock down, Marion is back to school, the government of Uganda lifted the lock down and opened the entire economy, most of the pupils at Marions school were not able to make it back to school because some girls got married off and some impregnated during lock down, although the government had allowed schools to allow pregnant girls back to school, most of them could not becasue of stigma. Some boys were also not able to return back to school because they are now involved in some high paying casual jobs.

Marions term one will end last week of April, she is derermined to study, she has got more new friends at school. Your continued support will enable Marion continue attending school even up to the end of this year and beyond

Hi Brook

Thank you so much for your continued support to Marion, even during this lock down, Marion has continued to study at home, her school does an online class and sends soft copy of notes too, Marion is in a secondary school and in senior two, this class needs much concentration, there is no way Marion would have managed to do home study without a computer and internet, your money has enabled us to buy her a computer (laptop) and monthly internet to enable her learn at home, some of her notes have to be printed out and all this is money, we are grateful for your continued support even during this very difficult season.

According to the Ugandan government, schools are scheduled to be reopened January 2022

Kind regards

Thank you so much for your continued support towards James, your monthly donations enabled James to continue school till he completed his grade seven, however, during the covid19 pandemic lock down imposed on Uganda to help curb the infection, James started attending an apprenticeship training on construction with his relative where he learnt so much of construction and was making money out of construction, he prefered to continue with his new learnt skill hence departing from formal studies,if James considers to come back for formal education in the near future, we will let you know, our project has identified another needy child eligible for support, for now this project will  change name to Support Marion complete school, Marion is in senior secondary school, she had stopped school when her father fell ill, her parents are HIV positive and her dad is ill, this project will enable her to resume school and complete, in Uganda and especially during the Covid19 pandemic, many girls have gotten pregnant and wont be able to continue school, the very few that havent been involved in realtionships like Marion need to be supported to complete school, Marion in HIV negative.

Will you support Marion to complete school?

I hope you are doing quite fine, James is doing fine too, he is on apprenticeship skills training learning construction skills, when schools resume soon, he will be able to go back to school, however, he is inspired to take on construction or engineering or architect in future.

There are many children in Uganda who havent yet made choices of what they want to become, James is lucky to have gotten an opportunity to identify his gift at such an age. Your continued support towards James and other Mountains of Hope programs have enabled us to achieve much in this difficult period of time, James is able to get for himself basic needs ith your support, when schools resume, James will require a new school uniform, shoes and other scholastic materials, schools are most likely to resume 1st March 2021 for all children in Uganda, schools have been closed for the last 12 months, many children have lost interest in Education especially girls and have gotten married or pregnant, for the case of boys, they have decided to find them selves petty jobs and are most likely not going to study anymore.

Our project through donations from generous people like you will  continue educating young people the importance of education and as well suport them report to school again, Mountains of Hope staff have embarked on this programme to chnge the mindset of these young people so as to prepare them to study again.

Hi! It has been a while since I last wrote to you.

James is doing fine, its a long holiday as schools haven't been opened yet due to covid19 pandemic, James has decided to learn how to build houses, he wants to be a responsible man, after school when he is grown up he wants to be a builder, he seems to be finding his career, we will do our part in guiding him to discover his career.

Schools have only opened for finalists,it's most likely children will repeat classes once schools reopen next year.

When schools reopen I will let you know about it. James will be able to learn to do many more things during this long holiday
