Nabeela - A hero
Nabeela, now 17, is the fruit of endless efforts and hard work of Fatima Memorial Hospital’s Community Outreach Schools for Underprivileged.
Entering the School at Lakhoder as a young student herself, she successfully completed her matriculation from this school with the support of Fatima Memorial Hospital and Donors like you.
Currently she is teaching the students of Class 1 and 2, while pursuing higher education.
She recently underwent a Training of Trainers in a workshop titled, ‘Creating A Happy Classroom’. She was one of the top three Trainers chosen after a presentation in front of a panel of senior academicians.
Her single biggest achievement as she puts it is, ‘Being on the giving end of the rope’.
She knows what it is like to be at the receiving end. She wants to make that experience as memorable, long-lasting and life-altering for her students as it was for her.
She loves the shape of a star, which means so much for a student. Nabeela says, ‘ I remember how earnestly I used to wait for a star on my hand or my notebook. For me it is, to-date, the biggest applaud a teacher can bestow upon her student.’
She further added, ‘Of this workshop, my favourite part was use of star as an incentive. I want to give a star to every student of mine. But I want them to work hard too. I will use different stages of a completed star to tell each student how hard he or she needs to work, to improve and to be awarded a completely formed star.’
‘I am a winner’, she said.
You can help us create more of these stars. Each star like Nabeela will lighten up the sky for hundreds of other Nabeelas, making a change in their lives for better, for good.
In this month of giving, let us all renew our pledge, and help brighten up this world.
