Pakistan ranks the second with the most out-of-school children in the world with only Nigeria ahead of it according to a child rights body.
Pakistan has been placed 146th out of 187 countries in terms of human development, according to the annual Human Development Report, recording only a marginal degree of change in the Human Development Index (HDI) over the last three to four years. The literacy rate of Pakistan is said to be 56% and a person who can write his or her name is considered to be literate thus we can imagine the reliability of this figure.
Despite these staggering figures, education is still not getting the important in the government sector as it should be and currently the Government spends only 2.1% of its GDP on education.
Fatima Memorial Hospital tries to play its small role in trying to provide a better future for our children.
Fatima Memorial Hospital started contributing in the field of education in 1985 when it opened its first NUR Foundation School in 1985. Today 18000 children have completed their primary education from NUR Foundation Schools and currently 1850 are completing their education and all students are provided free books, uniforms and stationery items every year. We can continue and keep educating the children of our nation with your help.
