The situation of Education today in Pakistan is not satisfactory, because of which Pakistan is considered to be one of the most under-developed countries on the globe today.
The recent survey reports disclosed that Pakistan’s literacy rate has stagnated at 58%, which means that half of the population is unable to read and write. There are so many contributing factors behind this steady decline; today 32% of children aged between 5-9 years are out of school and 17% of primary schools consist of a single room.
Fatima memorial hospital decided to play its role in developing communities with the initiation of its outreach program in 1985 to provide the basic health facilities to people of distant areas: In 1996, FMH opened the doors to the first NUR Foundation School. Today, 18,000 children have crossed through these schools and completed their primary education.
Currently, 1850 children study in these schools and they are also provided with a set of books and uniforms each year. With your help we want to continue with our program and hopefully expand it further,
“I enjoy coming to School”
Hello! My name is Ahmad and I am in Grade 4. I am studying here in the NUR Foundation School since 2011. I really enjoy coming to school. I have so many friends here and I like to spend time here with them. I like reading books, the stories in the books are my favorite.
