The Importance of Knowledge
We give countless figures and talks about the importance of education, of healthcare, of basic human rights and all the other things that is lacking for the majority on this planet.
It is all true and there is so much that needs to be done that it seems impossible but we can all play our role however small it may be for the betterment of those less fortunate.
The state of education in Pakistan is less than satisfactory with over 25 million children out of school today. Fatima Memorial Hospital initiated its Community Outreach Program to help those within the vicinity of Lahore in 1985 with primary health care services. In 1996 it branched out to education and through the combined efforts of our donors, volunteers and our dedicated team 18,000 bright boys and girls has received primary education since than.

My goal is near !
My name is Hajra Wilayat and I am in the last year of my school. I will be sitting for my matriculation examinations soon and will be eligible to apply to colleges. I have been studying at the NUR Foundation School since 2002. It has been ten years and it has been tough to say the least but now I am finally there.
I could have never imagined that I will make it this far, I was six when I was admitted to this school and today I see that my dreams can become reality. I can, if I want and if I work hard can wear that black robe and cap while I hold my college degree. It can all be mine and it will be mine, if I see it through. I will see it through and keep on going.
This is my goal and I will achieve it.
