Hello Dear Friends!

Romania Animal Rescue Inc dba Animal Spay Neuter International would like to wish you all a happy holiday season!

Our news is very full and uplifting.   We are approaching now 54,000 spays and neuters!  We invite you to visit our new and improved website:  www.romaniaanimalrescue.org

In October RAR held simultaneous spay and neuter campaigns in one week, along with our regular campaigns, some with HOPE our mobile clinic that traveled to villages near Craiova, and also at the Family Vet clinic in Craiova.  During this spayathon week, 475 animals were spayed and neutered.   Our Fall newsletter will show you some photos from the campaigns and more insight: http://romaniaanimalrescue.bmeurl.co/69590BC   Over one thousand animals we spayed and neutered in the month of October alone.

The Center of Hope had her pre-opening ceremony on October 16, with attendees from all over Europe, Canada and the USA viewing what will be THE SPAY AND NEUTER HEADQUARTERS for all of Romania.   I hope you can help us to continue to equip this great Center.  Your donations will save millions from suffering!

I would like to share a few photos from our most recent spay campaign that brought the Dream Team back to Tg. Frumos once again.  This small humble village has no possibility to humanely control the animal population without us, and they are so very grateful for support, as are we!  They and we hope to make this an ongoing mission for spay and neuter, and with help from our wonderful supporters, we feel this can be accomplished.

Neuter or Spay!  No More Strays!  No More Suffering!

I wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday and New Year!

The Center of Hope is a one of a kind project for Romania and Eastern Europe.   This Center, located on approximately 2 acres outside of Bucharest in a village, will serve Bucharest, Ilfov County, and beyond. COH will be the headquarters for our work in Romania.  The Center building is nearing completion, but the lights, heating and air, water, and the necessary equipment still needs to be purchased.  We desperately need your help to finish the Center of Hope.   This Center will house our massive spay and neuter projects, Homeless Animals Hospital Bucharest area, Veterinary Training Camp, and Education Center.

One of our most important pieces of equipment is an xray machine.  This is vital to providing the proper diagnosis for animals so that the treatment can be given.   The cost of an xray machine, including taxes, permits and shipping is $57,000.   We desperately need your donations to help us purchase this extremely expensive yet extremely necessary xray machine.

Romania Animal Rescue has made huge strides in animal welfare throughout Romania.  We are now at 50,000 spays and neuters that have been done by our excellent surgeons free of charge in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Surimane and the Dominican Republic.  The majority of these have been provided at our home base, Romania.

We are determined to change the fate of millions of animals, but we need your continued help to ensure that the Center of Hope will be the outstanding shining star for animals in Romania.  I hope you will help us with a donation of any amount towards the purchase of an xray machine, and thank you so very much, from the animals!

Greetings Friends!

As we have mentioned in past project reports, our mobile clinic, HOPE, reaches the most remote areas serving the animals of the most needy.  This month of May 2016 the first "Hopeython" was done, 6 days of amazing work serving 3 villages surrounding Craiova.  Our target was 220 animals, but the outpouring from the communities was incredible so that we could not turn animals away.  Special thanks to all the vet team, vet techs, and the amazing international volunteers and local volunteers who worked in the heat and until the night to accomplish what can be seen by some as a small miracle.  255 animals who will not reproduce into a world that has no room for them.

Here are a few comments we received:

From Iulia:

"Why Romania Animal Rescue? Because they are the only ones who wander the country to help ordinary people to spay/neuter their dogs and cats, to help people who cannot afford to pay for this surgery because as we all know salaries in Romania are very low (200 euro).  Why Romania Animal Rescue? Because they put in first place the animal welfare, sterile working and very professional for amazing results, tiny incision and fast recovery.  Why Romania Animal Rescue? Becaue they can and they want to help, and we ought to support them, so more than 50,000 spays/neuters to turn into 500,000 spays/neuters and abandoned animals no longer exist in this country."

From Gaita:

"This organization has literally changed the destiny of people and animals in our country.  Thanks to the wonderful work they do they were able to spy hundreds of dogs on the streets and owned by poor people so the suffering of many animals was prevented.  They are absolute professionals.."

From Anda:

As a member of the staff (vet technician), I can tell you first hand about people's reaction to our work.  There isn't a place in Romania where we have been so far where people aren't happy to see us and express their gratitude.  I see children and young people who are so careful and loving towards their pets and come from miles just so they can give their pets a chance of a healthy life and others who, even tho they haven't been taught to appreciate them at their true value, learn from our example and go home with a different view towards their animals' welfare than before.  Often times I heard old people saying "thank God you came and gave us this opportunity, as we are so tired of living in sin, killing the unwanted puppies year after year".Being able to help them do the right thing and showing them there is a humane way to handle the overpopulation of stray dogs and cats in Romania is the true meaning of what we are doing, apart from saving so many animals from torture.  I am always happy to see good people caring for their animals in a way that goes beyond financial means or even education; we are also involved in educating the young generation, as we are aware of the responsibility that securing that our work and goals go on even after we are no longer here to see it. "

Thank you for your donations for our work in Romania.  Thank you for supporting the fine work of our Romania Animal Rescue "Dream Team".   Your donations allow this remarkable charity to exist.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Spring is almost upon us, and you know what that means....puppy season.  We at Romania Animal Rescue want to nip this in the bud as soon as possible, and with your help, we can achieve our goals.  Right now our biggest need is to sustain the "60 Per Month" compaign for Bucharest.....we have no sponsor for this vital and well received program for Romania's largest city's dogs.  $25 will allow us to spay or neuter one dog, preventing the births of hundreds.

Our new Center is still being built outside of Bucharest.  This is another project that we truly need your support for.  We are asking for participants to "Buy a Brick" at the cost of $20 to invest in this Center that will be our Spay Neuter Center, Homeless Animals Hospital Bucharest, Home of the Veterinary Training Camp, Education Center, as well as the launching point for HOPE our mobile spay and neuter clinic.

We are happy to report that Romania Animal Rescue and our sister charity Animal Spay Neuter Intl. have now spayed and neutered 44,408 animals.   The need is great, and the demand for our excellent work constant.

Featured are some photos from our Tecuci spayathon this month, and I hope you enjoy them!  Also a new photo of the Center's progress, as well as "What Really Goes Into a Spayathon" video.

Thank you for your support that allows us to do what we do...make Romania a better place to be a dog who is cared for.

Thank you Mihaela Raducanu and Dr. Aurelian Stefan DVM  for the photos!

Dear Romania Animal Rescue Supporters and Friends,

Romania faces a huge population of unwanted dogs, with spay and neuter as the only real solution to the problem.  Massive and increasing campaigns by Romania Animal Rescue are addressing this issue, now approaching 10,000 spays and neuters for the year of 2015 alone, with over 43,000 spays and neuters in total along with our Animal Spay Neuter Intl sister charity.   The area of Bucharest has the largest population of both humans and animals, and RAR now has the opportunity to have a headquarters in this area to help the animals.

As many of our supporters know there needs to be a major change in the direction currently being used by the government …..as opposed to killing or locking up the unwanted dogs, only for them to face starvation, disease, and imprisonment.   The route of the problem lies in the fact that there are too many unwanted companion animals…animals who have no home and face abandonment, killing, or a life behind bars in a kennel.

Many have suggested that the EU step in and provide funds for spay and neuter, but this is not being done, has never been done, and in the meantime more and more animals are being born to suffer.   Therefore charities and donors must step in…charities that are capable of handling the massive need for spay and neuter in the villages and towns surrounding the major population area of Bucharest.  Romania Animal Rescue now has 9 vets, and we hope to expand this and train more vets and hire them to treat more animals.   In addition to spay and neuter,  a hospital that will provide free and subsidized veterinary  care for the homeless animals and those of impoverished people, as well as helping numerous local charities, is a must for the area.

Romania Animal Rescue, Dr. Aurelian Stefan and Dr. Petrisor Stefan have now started building the new Spay Neuter Center, Homeless Animals Hospital, Veterinary Training Camp Bucharest, and Education Center located just outside of Bucharest. This massive project will serve communities within a 100 km radius, and will be the launching point for HOPE the mobile spay unit.

We are in need of help to sustain this life-saving project , funds for the purchase of equipment, maintenance, and to hire and train more vets and techs to work at the clinic.

I hope you will support this new RAR Spay/Neuter Center and Homeless Animals Hospital project.  History is being made for the animals, and you are invited to be a part of it!

We invite you to view the 2 new videos from RAR.   And special thanks to MPL Communications (Sir Paul McCartney's company) for granting our charity written permission to use the song "Hope of Deliverance" as our HOPE mobile clinic's theme song for 3 years.

Thank you, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
