Dear Friends and Supporters,
I have a wonderful report for you this month! We recently joined the Romania Animal Rescue Mobile Spay Team on a Spayathon to the town of Filiasi. RAR has been spaying and neutering in Filiasi for some time now, and want to keep the momentum going so that fewer animals will be born to stray.
Our goal was 100 spays and neuters, and we reached 103. Lots of hard work for the Dream Team and volunteers. The location was in a chilly building and mobile heaters were used as well as hot water bottles and a "kitty tunnel" for recovery, whereby heat was blown under blankets to keep the recovering cats warm. You see cats temperatures often go down following surgery and we needed to keep their temperatures above 35 degress centigrade. Taking temperatures, checking breathing and gums, keeping hot water bottles going to make sure everyone recovered well was our duty as recovery volunteers. We also providing deparasiting products.
Meanwhile the local volunteers were in charge of check-in and release, our vets and techs were in charge providing a sterile surgical environment, clipping, anesthesia, long term antibiotics and pain medication injections as well as the surgery itself. A vet tech from the USA took the train from Bucharest to Filiasi to meet up and volunteer with us during this campaign.
Following this 2 day campaign, we were on the road for a 4 hour drive back to Bucharest to our headquarters at the Center of Hope, where we participated in more sterilization campaigns and even caught a local cat for neutering.
It was an amazing experience as always, and so gratifying to see this amazing group of animal lovers work so hard to save animals.
Thank you for all your support. We rely completely on donations and appreciate your help.

Greetings Friends and Happy New Year!
2022 was an extremely busy year for Romania Animal Rescue. 9487 cats and dogs were sterilized, the new Center of Hope Extension was completed, with a new suite specifically set up for even more spays and neuters.
RAR has a new contract with Ilfov County whereby we provide spays and neuters (funded by generous donations at $25 per spay/neuter) in villages surrounding Bucharest city. These are areas where animals are often abandoned, and the people are extremely impoverished. We need to keep the animals off the roads and get them into homes. Working with our friends from Ilfov County is a first of its kind project in Romania. These young people go into the communities, using our Spay Shuttle as well as their county van to bring the animals to our Center of Hope.
In October we had the Grand Opening of the New Extension, and what did we do to celebrate? Held two massive Spayathons, one in October with RAR and Animal Spay Neuter International volunteers attending, and the 24 Hour Spayathon that was reported in Romanian national media, thereby drawing more attention to the vital need for spays/neuters in order to stop the abandonment of puppies and kittens that cannot be provided for. YouTube videos will give you a glimpse into the work done. First video is from the Grand Opening, second is narrated by Dr. Aurelian Stefan at the 24 Hour Spayathon.
We hope you are pleased with this progress and will continue to support our extremely hard work.
Thank you for being there for the animals!

Greetings Friends,
As this summer ends, we have more work to report being done with your help for the cats of Romania. Our totals for spay/neuter of animals (cats and dogs) is now over 104,423 - that number represents millions who never were born to suffer, thanks to your support.
Veterinary Directory Dr. Aurelian Stefan and the team of vets and techs are now presented in a 12 episode hour long TV reality program "Veterinarians in Action" on national TV. It is a page of history for the animals of Romania! And we now have a running advertisement in the Bucharest subway inviting the public to help homeless animals.
Center of Hope Spay/Neuter Extension is near completion, making it the largest spay/neuter center in Romania. Opening celebration will be on October 17. This huge expansion will allow RAR to spay/neuter even more animals, as many as 1000 per month in this location alone. Your continued support can make this goal possible. Both the original Center of Hope and the extension are built with "green" technology. Our energy bill for the Center of Hope in July was an amazing $8. Saving more money to help the animals!
We secured an agreement with Ilfov County (Bucharest vicinity) to spay/neuter animals ..... a first of it's kind. Their volunteers actively reach the villages and bring cats to the Center of Help for treatment and surgery using the Spay Shuttle . After awakening from anesthesia and being vet checked, the cats are returned to their guardians in the evening.
Dr. Aurelian and volunteer Catalin have set up the first cat microchip registry in Romania. So many kitties will be reunited to their guardians thanks to this!
All this work and so much more to come is possible thanks to your donations.
We are deeply grateful for your continued help.

Greetings Friends,
Romania Animal Rescue has been extremely busy with our Spayathons this year. We are celebrating 101,544 as of April 30! Your donations have helped us achieve this incredible accomplishment!
When you consider that by spaying one you can potentially save 100 kittens from ever being born, this is a massive achievement....that could not have been done without our loyal donors. WE THANK YOU!
RAR does campaigns at Center of Hope (Bucharest area) , Family Vet (Craiova area), as well as running mobile campaigns to reach rural villages that have no means of help for their animals. We also run the Spay Shuttle that transports animals from small villages to the Center of Hope for spay/neuter and veterinary care.
Your ongoing support allows us to change the way Romanian animals live. Please continue to help. Together we can work miracles!

Greetings Everyone!
I hope 2022 has been a good year for you thus far. The Romania Animal Rescue team is off and running already this year. We plan to have the Spay Neuter Extension at the Center of Hope open in June.
We've been organizing spays and neuters at the Center of Hope near Bucharest, Family Vet in Craiova, and doing mobile campaigns using the Spay Shuttle and traveling to perform MASH style spayathons in villages and towns.
We are fortunate to have a visitor and volunteer from the USA who is a registerd veterinary technician. Forrest has written a blog about his experience:

It is always a delight to have gifted volunteers and for them to see our work.
We hope you will continue to support us in this mighty endeavor. We are currently approaching 100,000 spays and neuters of cats and dogs since our charity began. Your financial support and sharing our work with friends will help us reach even more animals. Thank You!
