Project #7850

Solar Lamps for 2600 Students in Sundarbans, India

by Association for Social and Environmental Developme
Jun 25, 2014

It's Bonus Day today - Microsoft is matching 100%!

Dear Kind Supporter,

Through your generosity 1700 students in the Sundarbans have received the opportunity to better their lives. One solar lamp helps a student further her/ his academic studies and saves at least 18 liters of kerosene a year resulting in 2% saving in annual family expenditure. It results in reduction in carbon emissions benefiting the fragile ecosystem of the Sundarbans, a World Heritage site.

Many more students are yet to be reached.

TODAY is Bonus Day. All donations to this project will be matched by 100% by Microsoft!

Bonus Day starts at 12 pm (noon) EDT/ 9.30 pm Indian Standard Time. Funds run out very fast so do hurry if you wish to make a donation!

Thank you.
