We focus on local organizations and grassroots groups having the strength and capacities to consolidate achievements within their communities and cooperate with other organizations to strengthen the social net of Malinalco. The process we propose is not only based on facilitating these technical capacities but also on a dynamic of linkage between groups and with external allies to generate permanent collaboration networks that facilitate collaborative community development
Malinalco lives a deep social problem caused by inequality. The economic benefit of tourism is focused on certain sectors of society and not on the most remote communities. Similarly, the type of economic generation logics continue to be little planned and focused on the short-term benefit. These imbalances result in unsustainable forms of ecological exploitation and highly competitive social relations, which together with inter-familiar conflicts and between sectors weaken the social fabric.
The process we propose is not only based on facilitating technical capacities (for sustainable economic and social development) but also on a dynamic of linkage between groups and with external allies to generate permanent collaboration networks that facilitate collaborative community development
This work can actively contribute to reduce inequalities and therefore reduce the risk of violence in the community by many factors: By promoting the abilities of the groups, learning opportunities are promoted which in turn will result in more possibilities for decent work and improvement in the economy.
