As part of our effort to maintain the high quality of projects on our site, GlobalGiving regularly sends long-term representatives into the field to visit our partner organizations and monitor the projects that are listed on GlobalGiving. Recently, GlobalGiving’s representative in Eastern Africa, Kelly Kurz, attempted to make contact and visit Organic Persepctives' projects in Uganda.
Although Organic Perspectives has indeed been doing work in Uganda for some time and has contacts that verify their work, Kelly was not able to independently verify that the Organic Perspectives projects had taken place. He was also unable to make contact with the nonprofit's current team. GlobalGiving takes our visits In-the-Field very seriously, considers them a part of our vetting and review process, and we include them as part of terms and conditions to join GlobalGiving. For this reason we have decided to end our relationship with Organic Perspectives.
GlobalGiving will be reallocating any pending funds in Organic Perspectives' account to the GlobalGiving Fund – a fund that feeds our matching and bonus days for our nonprofit partners as well as some of our other trainings and benefits.
We are committed to ensuring that our donors have a meaningful giving experience on GlobalGiving! If you are unsatisfied with your donation to this project, GlobalGiving will refund your donation to Organic Perspectives' projects with the GlobalGiving Guarantee. The refund will come in the form of a gift certificate equal to the value of the original donation, which you are invited to contribute to another project on the site.
If you have any questions or if you would like to reallocate your donation to another GlobalGiving project, please contact Paige Creigh at pcreigh@globalgiving.org by June 30th.
