Girls Leagues Launch in Two Communities

Coach Caroline and her team talk before the game
Coach Caroline and her team talk before the game

GBHS Kosala Girls faced off against Legend FC Girls this past Sunday at Government Practicing School in Kumba Town in a beautiful game witnessed by all those who attended from within the Kumba municipality. While Legend FC opened scoring with a very spectacular goal from a girl called Rhoda, they could not contain the pressure from the much-better opponent. The eager GBHS Kosala girls team imposed their talent on the ladies of Legend FC, beating them 2-1 at full time. The topic of the day was based on Setting Goals: how young people can be objective in setting and achieving their goals.

We spoke with Rhoda after the match and she shared her dream to become a professional footballer in future. "My goal in the future is to play football at the highest level. I understand that is difficult in my coutry, so I must continue my studies with a focus in the college of science, but also want to continue training because I love football. I appreciate the CameroonFDP coaches because they believe in us and our ability to achieve our goals."

Thanks to all of our supporters who have supported our educational football leagues over the last few years. Because of our support, we have been able to expand our offering to boys AND girls leagues in two communities: Kumba AND Mamfe.
