Soccer for Child Rights has been creating a platform for youth from slums and corporate teams to play as equals, since 2014. The event is conceptualised as a platform for the players from CRY partner SCSTEDS (Slum Children Sports Talent Education Development Society) to draw inspiration from corporate employees and for employees to have an exposure to the heroes from the project and network amongst each other, while fundraising for child rights; all over a game of Soccer! Support Child Rights!
Children are the most vulnerable segment of any society. Their situation provides the most stringent metric of a society's health and a rallying point with the widest appeal across all parts of society. Ensuring child rights is the most sustainable solution to the myriad social, economic and political issues confronting India. Sustainable change at the level of the community is only possible when communities themselves develop and implement solutions, cooperatively.
Soccer for Child Rights aims at fundraising in Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata by engaging corporate teams and youth from SCSTEDS teams. Funds raised will support our partner organisations and individuals in addressing child rights issues by ensuring that children, their parents and their communities come together and are aware about child rights, to engage with their local government bodies to collectively address those issues, bringing about lasting change in the lives of children.
At CRY, we are committed to our vision for a happy, healthy and creative childhood for every child. Our goals include ensuring children in CRY-supported projects have access to free and quality education, primary healthcare and are safe from violence, abuse and exploitation. Along with our project partners, CRY ensures that the government fulfils their duty by providing the necessary infrastructure and services as per the needs of the children and at the best quality possible.
