Challenge

Wars in DRCongo has devastating effects on human beings, physically, mentally and financially. Many families do not have enough money to feed their families and do not access to microfinance institutions. Without financial independence, women can not defend their rights. The fact improve access of women in small business effects beyond his family .This group of about 300 women are very vulnerable and need all the support they can get to break the cycle of poverty.

Solution

The project will train and issue rotary loans of $100 - $150 to more impoverished women to start business. We will organize borrower meetings, conduct site visits, provide ongoing business education and introduce women to dealing with the local bank. Finally, We focus on creating opportunities of job to vulnerable women by starting small business, boosting local economy, and promoting a sense of community

Long-Term Impact

The project will help more women who have been experienced the consequences of repeated wars in Eastern DRC to develop their entrepreneurship and empowerment to allow them saving money and access to a bank account and loans and finally to reach financial independence in order to offer a proper livelihood to their family. The key to long-term economic growth will be to integrate education and access to healthcare with the micro-lending program to achieve sustainability.
