Skills-for-employment training

By Jo-Anne Prins | Fundraiser

Men on the Side of the Road project is delighted to receive ongoing support for its skills for employment training efforts. By making a contribution, you are helping to restore hope and confidence in the lives of our members. Thank you for your kind generosity and for making this possible.

Our training focuses on assisting members who have shown a dedication and commitment to improving their circumstances. It is seen as a reward for consistent hard work with the intention always to improve their earning capacity. Many men who have benefited from skills training have gone on to find work in a related industry. Others have begun their own small businesses in their communities.

Comments we frequently hear from members is that “…..training has changed my life. Now I can find work….”.

Training is provided to unemployed men in skills such as bricklaying, construction, carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting, decorating and plumbing. Training is focused on skills needed by the labour market to ensure success in finding work. We work with accredited training service providers to achieve the most effective use of the limited training resources available. We also encourage large companies to provide training for our members as an in-kind donation.

We welcome your feedback and input into our training initiative. You can provide feedback on our comments section!
