This project will be aimed at enrolling 12 LGBTIQ refugees and asylum seekers with in Nairobi in to colleges and technical institutes so that they acquire knowledge and skills which in return can enable them get employment and start up livelihood activities that will promote self sustenance
Currently refugees and asylums seeker with in Nairobi Kenya can't access employment opportunities due to lack of documentation and skills and not to forget that UNHCR cut off financial assistance to refugees so survival for refugees and asylum seekers without a source of income has been a challenge.
With skills being acquired,LGBTIQ refugees and asylum seekers will be able to start up their own livelihood activities or find jobs hence the income earned will be essential in survival without depending or hoping for donor assistance.
Employment opportunities will be created for refugees and this will cub the problem of over dependence on UNHCR and it will also reduce sex work that most LGBTIQ refugees and asylum seekers had resorted to as a means of survival.
This project has provided additional documentation in a XLSX file (projdoc.xlsx).
