Skills To Furnish (NPO) is a fully registered entity, based in Johannesburg, serving members of communities in the recruitment and training of youth in skills development programmes. The primary training centres around the restoration and manufacture of furniture including upholstery.

We have had over 95% retention of our incumbents who are youth (18yrs - 35yrs) sourced from areas or communities that are plagued by poverty, social ills and the effects of unemployment .

Since the year 2000, we trained 1600 youth who successfuly graduated with FP & M SETA NQF Level 2 and 3 Accreditation. Approximately 1340 graduates were recruited by organizations within the furniture industry, with the balance either joining SMME`s or establishing their own small businesses. Such businesses are mentored by members of Skills To Furnish (SFI) team members.

For 2024 SKILLS to FURNISH INTERNATIONAL has decided to establish an SMME of 12 graduates from the 2023 group, to provide them, as part of the EXIT STRATEGY, give them all the necessary skills required to create a business that is sustainable and prepared for growth. Such skills include management, financial, operational, design and planning.

We attach a range of products manufactured by the trainees.

Our aim is to increase the number of graduates included in the SMME Development programmes. Therefore, this communication report is to appeal for your interest with a view to acquire funds to expand the development of small business units for the graduates.
