Building the Next Phase: SiFA Prepares for 2026

Since our last update in December 2025, the SiFA Program has entered a transition phase—moving from one cycle of learning into intentional preparation for the next.

Where We Are Now: A Season of Preparation

Following the close of the previous cycle, our focus has been on strengthening the foundation for the next phase of SiFA. This includes refining the program structure, securing resources, and building the right network of mentors and partners to support a new cohort of women entrepreneurs.

Key activities during this period include:

Fundraising and Resource Mobilization – We are actively working to secure funding that will support program delivery, including mentorship, training, and access to financial support for participants.
Mentor Engagement – We are identifying and onboarding experienced mentors who can provide practical, context-driven guidance to women entrepreneurs across food systems, agriculture, and related sectors.
Program Refinement – Insights from the previous cohort are being used to strengthen the structure, curriculum, and overall experience for future participants.
Partnership Development – Ongoing conversations with partners and stakeholders to deepen collaboration and expand the program’s reach and impact.

Looking Ahead: 2026 Cohort Launch

We are working toward launching the next SiFA cohort in May 2026.

The upcoming cycle will build on the lessons learned so far, with a continued focus on:

Practical, hands-on mentorship
Capacity building for sustainable business growth
Strengthening community and peer support
Providing access to financial support mechanisms

Our goal remains clear: to equip women entrepreneurs with the tools, support, and networks they need to build resilient and sustainable businesses.

Closing Note

While this phase may appear quieter from the outside, it is one of the most important stages of the work. The time spent now—building the right structure, securing the right support, and engaging the right people—will shape the depth and effectiveness of the next cohort.

Steady Progress: SiFA Continues to Build Impact

Since our last update in August, the SiFA Program has continued to move forward with steady engagement, learning, and relationship-building among mentors and mentees.

Where We Are Now: Program in Progress

Between September and December, the program focused on deepening mentor–mentee relationships, strengthening business foundations, and maintaining consistent community engagement.

Key developments include:

Ongoing Mentorship Sessions – Mentors and mentees have continued regular one-on-one sessions, focusing on goal refinement, problem-solving, and practical business guidance.
Capacity Building Sessions – Additional workshops were held, reinforcing topics such as operational planning, financial management, and sustainable growth.
Community Check-Ins – Peer support circles remained active, providing space for shared learning, accountability, and encouragement.
Progress Tracking – Mentees submitted periodic reflections and updates, helping the team monitor growth areas and emerging needs.

Observed Outcomes

As the year progressed, mentees demonstrated clearer business direction, improved confidence in decision-making, and stronger accountability to their goals. Mentors remained actively engaged, offering consistent guidance and support tailored to each participant’s context.

While businesses are at different stages, many mentees report:

Improved structure in their operations
Better understanding of financial planning
Increased clarity around next growth steps

Looking Ahead: Early 2026 Focus

As we move into the next phase of the program, priorities include:

Consolidating learning outcomes from the mentorship cycle
Preparing mentees for business visibility and showcase opportunities
Laying the groundwork for the interest-free loan phase
Strengthening alumni and peer-to-peer support structures

Building Momentum: SiFA Program Kicks Off Strong

What began earlier this year with planning and fundraising has now blossomed into a vibrant, active program empowering women entrepreneurs across Africa.

Where We Are Now: Program in Motion

In June, we successfully completed mentor and mentee selection, welcoming an inspiring group of women entrepreneurs into the fellowship. Each participant has now been paired with a dedicated mentor and connected to She-EO’s global sisterhood. Since July, program activities have been in full swing, bringing together women, ideas, and resources for transformational growth.

We’ve achieved:

Mentor & Mentee Onboarding – A smooth induction process ensuring both mentors and mentees are aligned and ready for impact.
Capacity Building Workshops – Expert-led sessions on business strategy, financial literacy, and leadership already underway.
Community Support Circles – Monthly peer group check-ins fostering accountability and encouragement.
Access to Resources – Tools, guides, and networks helping participants strengthen and scale their ventures.

Early Signs of Impact:

Though still in its early stages, the SiFA Program is already making a difference. Mentees are reporting stronger confidence, clearer business strategies, and valuable new connections. Mentors, in turn, are deeply engaged, offering both practical expertise and personal encouragement.

What’s Next: Sustaining Growth

As we move forward, the program will expand with:

More targeted workshops tailored to specific sectors (food, agriculture, healthcare, and alternative energy).
Business showcase opportunities for mentees to pitch their ventures.
Preparation for the interest-free loan cycle, empowering graduates to scale their businesses.
