ShelterBox is responding to multiple disasters around the world, including Japan, Bolivia and Madagascar and needs help to send more aid and replenish stock to help us prepare for future disasters.
Japan – Earthquake and Tsunami left 500,000+ displaced Initial 444 boxes arrived in country as of March 17; hundreds more en route Bolivia – Flooding and Landslides claiming 50 lives and left thousands homeless 200 ShelterBoxes have been sent. 125 ShelterBoxes have been delivered to families who lost their homes. Madagascar – Landslides and Flood Damage left thousands homeless 400 ShelterBoxes and 4 Classrooms in a Box were sent to the worst affected areas.
ShelterBox is delivering aid in the form of shelter, warmth and dignity to disaster survivors. Each box contains a disaster relief tent, water purification, cook-stove, cooking and eating utensils, blankets and other tools to help families rebuild.
ShelterBoxes help families rebuild their lives after losing everything in a disaster. Since 2000, ShelterBox has helped over a million disaster survivors in more than 70 countries after over 140 disasters.
