This project will help 30 homeless elderly widows and 10 women / girls with disabilities to provide permanent shelter. At present, we are running a home for elderly widows in a rented building.; where we cannot run income generation & environment friendly activates like kitchen garden, paper plat unit etc. In Puducherry no such homes are available expect us. We have 256.54 sq. meters land to construct own building, you help can help elderly widows to provide better premise.
Nowadays, women are not safe in India. if we talk about the elderly women and women with disabilities then they are always subject to domestic violence, sexual abuse, isolation, neglecting or abandoned etc. This condition make them to live their live in public places like. bus stand, railway stations, temples etc. In Puducherry 67017 women are 60+ and around 13000 are disabled but still no such homes are available except us.
if we construct own building; more elderly women & women with disabilities can we facilitate. which will reduse numbers of violence against women in public places like. bus stand, railway stations, temples etc.
the project will provide around 40-50 elderly widows and women with disabilities shelter, food, clothe and ensure their basic rights and provide opportunities to learn and earn through vocational training and kitchen garden activities etc/.
