Polar Plunge Season is almost at an end!

By Audrey Vejraska | Donor Services Manager

The Special Olympics Oregon Polar Plunge is one of our largest fundraisers each year, and this season is almost at an end. We are so grateful for each and every person who has signed up for the Plunge themselves or supported another brave soul. Every three plungers who each raise just $50 allows one athlete to compete in Special Olympics Oregon for an ENTIRE season. Ten seconds of being uncomfortable in the frigid waters of Oregon provides months of training to the largest disability population in the state!

So far, plungers from all over Oregon have raised over $331,286 and we still have two more days until the Portland Plunge! The money raised from the Polar Plunge helps Special Olympics Oregon provide quality sports training and athletic competition to children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities in Oregon. Through the power of sports, ur constituents gain confidence, make life-long friendships, and are given opportunities for inclusion and respect. Without Special Olympics their lives would be dramatically different.

"Why We Plunge"

Brandon is an athlete and a plunger with Special Olympics in Bend, Oregon. Watch the video and you'll agree-- it's people like Brandon that make it all worth it.

There is still plenty of time to sign up for the Portland Plunge or simply make a donation- every dollar makes a difference!
