When we develop video materials in Argentinean Sign Language and when we train deaf adults, we attempt to make them multipliers of these workshops in order to widen the scope of deaf people who benefit from our initiative and to reach as many deaf adolescents and children in schools as we can. Following this trend, recently the Argentinean Deaf-Mute Confederation started preparing, on the basis of our materials and the training that some of its members received from us, workshops for schools in the countryside. For Canales this is especially important for two reasons: on the one hand because it stimulates deaf’s own initiatives and, on the other hand, because the children from schools in the countryside where, up to now, always excluded from these educational programs.
We celebrate that our projects are extended through the hands of the deaf community because we believe that they will get empowered through this enterprise. Also, in order to boost this proposal, we would like to invite you to join us create a website in sign language and Spanish (voice over) where all adolescents and children can find information about health caring.
