This project seeks to reduce teenage pregnancy, eliminate Sexually Transmitted Infections and to keep more than five thousands (5000) teenagers (most especially girl child) in basic schools across Ga-West and North Municipality in Ghana.
For the past 10 years there has been a high rate of teenage pregnancy, school dropouts and STIs among adolescent in Ghana, which has resulted in low socio - economic growth according to SRH Educational Policy. According to a survey conducted by SRH in 2018, these challenges are as result of inadequate knowledge about sexual education among adolescents in school. Over 5000 adolescents would be educated on the Adolescent reproductive health in 55 Junior high Schools in Ga west
This project will educate teenagers on Adolescent Reproductive Health, which will help curb the high rate of teenage pregnancy, school dropouts and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). There would be guidance and counseling team which would serve as a means of providing further information on the adolescence reproductive health through text messaging and face to face interactions. Provision of menstrual hygiene materials to the adolescent girl to keep her in school at all time
The project would keep 5000 teenagers in school allowing them to pursue higher education which will help them raise out of poverty to become responsible leaders in their communities. Reducing high rate of maternal mortality on the side of the adolescent girl by 60%
