Clean water for Tumaini home and the community

by Tumaini Miles of Smiles Centre

We are very grateful for your support towards our clean water project. We now have a borehole which is giving us clean running water! The children are nolonger carrying the buckets of water on their heads from a stream which is far away from the institution.

All has happened because of your commitment to our cause and we thank you for enabling us have this priviledge. We now know that our children and the neighbouring community will rest from water borne diseases which have been a big challenge. We are enjoying this facility because of YOU! The borehole is 240 feet deep and the water is clean. Our neighbours who are the members from the community are also benefiting from the project. This is a huge blessing from you to this community! Without YOU, we would not be where we are and we are proud of YOU! Thank you for being part of our family!

YOU made it happen and we are all proud of you all! WATER IS LIFE AND YOU HAVE GIVEN US LIFE! Clean running water is now in the village and it’s because of YOU!  THANK YOU!

YOU have changed life at Tumaini centre and the neighbouring community! YOU have relieved all the children from carrying water on their heads which affect their necks and the spine. You have made the lives of the children easy, and all the time that was spent on fetching water is now utilized on their studies. The neighbours are enjoying the clean water from the borehole and everything is just smooth. During the drilling of the borehole it everybody in the community was excited, the machines were huge and it became the learning point for the pupils from the neighboring schools. They all wanted to come and see the machines, this was something new in the eyes of the community members and the children.

We have the matching of funds this month and we are requesting that you share the link with friends, we complete the remaining funds on this project to finish our pump costs. We believe in sharing what we are doing with friends and families as it makes a big impact on the donations. Feel part of this work, own it and let’s make this happen.

On behalf of Tumaini family we wish you Happy Valentine! As you celebrate Valentine's Day we at Tumaini are celebrating the new life of having running water! You made it happen! We have started drilling on Monday February 9th and we found water! The machines were huge and it was exciting for both the children and the villagers.

The drilling was completed yesterday, February 13th, although we have not started using the water yet. The water has to be tested in the lab and then a test pumping has to be done to determine the type of pump to be used for pumping the water to the storage.

THIS IS JUST BECAUSE OF YOU! You have made a great impact in this community, an experience that has never been before and we are PROUD OF YOU!

We know that making a donation is a true sacrifice, yet without a commitment and a sacrifice lives can never change! We appreciate every donation as it has made a difference and you can see from the pictures that your donations are making our dream to have fresh water a reality! As I have shared, we are still yet to buy a pump. Without this pump, we will not actually have the water that is in the borehole waiting to be pumped.

We therefore request you to continue sharing with friends for the next one week so that we can be able to purchase a pump. A word of mouth, sharing on our social pages has actually enable us to raise the funds to do 75% of the work. We need to ask for your help again to complete the project.

We are almost there! Thank you for making it happen!

Clean and running water brings happiness in our lives as we are always free from water born diseases.  It has been a hussle for Tumaini children and the nearby community especially during dry seasons. We tend to get used to carrying water but then the water we carry affect our lives.

We thank you all who are making efforts to donate towards this projetct as we are looking forward to having running water for our  children and the community. This will not only bring happiness in our lives but protect us from water born diseases which affects us every time. We highly appreciate all who are sharing this with friends as it is the only way we will achieve our goal. As we approach christmas may you take a step and share your christmas with our children and community by enabling them have clean water. May you share this link with friends as global giving is giving us an opportinity to fundaraise for this project next month. They will be matching  all the donations and it is a great opportunity to make it happen.

We are grateful for your support and for being part of this cause. We all wish you a Happy Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends of Tumaini,

We are grateful for the support towards the wellbeing of our children. They enjoy the good health and the good environment at the centre because of you. This has not just happened, it has come a long way which has involved you and your commitment. We just don’t take this for granted, but we really appreciate and we know this is happening because of your sacrifice and commitment to change lives.

Water is life as they say. To have clean and running water helps very much especially in protecting children from water borne diseases. Tumaini children have always had a problem with water and our boreholes dry up for more than five months every year. Children are forced to fetch water from the stream, which gives us hard time as the water is not treated. We are hoping to drill water and this project started early last year. This was to enable Tumaini family to have running water throughout the year and not only Tumaini family but even the community members. We have managed to buy a 10,000 litre tank and we have done the fabrication and we have raised the tank. We have not drilled the water yet and the tank has been raised and this is now the second year with the tank up without water. We know if we can come together this will happen and our children will have clean and running water. Drilling has not happened because of lack of funds but we have always made it in other projects together. Clean and running water is part of good hygiene for the children and for the general use at home.

How will this happen? We have made always made things happen, and through sharing with our friends and family, it makes a difference. We have seen it happening and we know having clean and running water for our lovely children will make a difference in their home.

Thank you so much once again for your support and commitment.
