The conflict in Syria has taken a tremendous toll on children's access to educational services and protection. Children in Syria suffer protracted and multiple displacements, continuous exposure to violence, family separation, chronic psychosocial distress, recruitment and economic exploitation. The whole generation of children is at risk of losing hope. Education is key to their survival and preparation to rebuild a peaceful Syria. Without education, Syria's children will be a lost generation.
The crisis has caused a massive break in Syrian children's education. The task of providing an education to Syria's children is becoming ever more daunting as the numbers of children and families displaced by the conflict increase. Syrian children living in IDP tent camps don't have access to schools. Failing to receive education would have an immensely negative impact on their future, that of the region and beyond.
Education has the power to make a real and lasting difference to young lives who have suffered through Syria's conflict. Each day in school stabilizes lives and communities, spurs growth, and provides hope and purpose in fundamental ways. This project is in collaboration with Damascene House (Ev DERNEGI) schools. It is an opportunity for the Syrian children to receive education and regain their self-esteem and hope for the future in Syria.
When peace comes, children will be the ones to lead their communities towards a brighter future - a task they can only shoulder if they have been able to continue their education. To make this happen, your generous global giving will safeguard the fundamental right of Syrian children to quality education and it will be a long-term investment in the future of the next generation.
