This project will get 100 street children admitted in schools run by government of Sindh Pakistan. These children will be provided books and uniforms by the government of Sindh while REACH organization will support these 100 children by providing shoes, stationary and pocket money for one year. Since most of these children are involved in begging, REACH will sign an MoU with school to allow these children to sell confectionery items during half time to meet daily expenses of their family.
There are approximately 1.5 million street children in Pakistan who are at the risk of sexual and drug abuse and are the most vulnerable in our society. Every year hundreds of these children specially girls are sexually abused and even killed. The root cause rendering these children out of home is poverty and proper nurturing from their families. Through this project, street children will be admitted in schools and will be allowed to sell confectionery items during recess to meet daily needs.
REACH Organization has identified the street children in district Dadu of Sindh-Pakistan of which most of the street children are run-away children while others are home going children. REACH organization provides these children uniforms, shoes, school bags and pocket money. these children`s families are also supported by children while studding by selling confectionery items in the school during the recess time.
This project will admit 100 street children into school providing them an opportunity to be educated, equal, confident and decent member of this society and seek employment opportunities for well-being of their families. The success of this project will be a catalyst of change for others who are living in vulnerable conditions like these street children.
