REPORT ON PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE FIRST QUARTER
(NOVEMBER 2011 – JANUARY 2012)
INTRODUCTION
The project was posted on GlobalGiving Foundation platform in November 2011 and
International Needs Ghana (INGH) is once again grateful to all who supported
and provided funds during the Winter 2011 Challenge of the GlobalGiving
Foundation. This report covers activities implemented in the first quarter of
the project.
Fundraising
During the period under review INGH participated in the Winter Challenge and raised an
amount of USD4,515.00. GlobalGiving Foundation has wired this money to INGH, we
hope to receive it in the next couple of days to swing into full scale project
implementation.
Finalization of Community Selection
International Needs Ghana (INGH) has finalized the selection of the seven project
communities. These are Vome, Volo, Mepe Degorme, Aveyime, Dadome, Adudornu and
Adidokpoe. All the communities are in the North Tongu District of the Volta
Region of Ghana. These communities are located in areas where traffickers are
taking advantage of established migratory routes to traffic children to fishing
communities along the Volta Lake. These children are then exploited for labour
purposes in fishing on the lake.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
