This project will provide financial and technical assistance to 200 chronically poor families and provide care for 200 street children or those with severe domestic problems. in Haiti. A care that will ensure family reunification, schooling and medical child victims of trafficking, abuse and exploitation.
407,000 the number of child domestic workers in Haiti, more than half of them would be in unacceptable forms of work with regard to the workload and opportunities for psychological, physical development and access to opportunities educative. Almost 60% of these children in unacceptable working conditions are girls, mainly employed in urban areas. The phenomenon of domestic child labor in Haiti is complex.
Through support to families, direct assistance to children targeted for family reunification as well as the reinforcement of the knowledge of local actors in psychosocial support and referencing system that take into account the specific needs of girls and boys, and social support - economic for families at risk, this intervention aims to reduce considerably and sustainable child domestic work in Haiti.
200 families will be trained in the management of small and medium-sized enterprises and will enable them to get out of poverty which will contribute to the schooling of children, the reunification of children in domesticity or streets. It will reduce the risk of a possible family separation or abandonment of children. It will enable the overall care of 200 children in street situations and worse form of work. 1500 neighborhood households will be sensitized on the protection of children.
