Nepal faced terrible earthquake experience on May 25 and June 12, 2015. People still fear even to think of the incident. Thousand of Nepalese homes devastated and thousands of families with children displaced. So many children were out of schools. Many of them joined back to schools but many more left schools due to families displaced and migrated in urban settlements for seeking alternative incomes. The proposed project is to support school enrollment so that they won't deprived from education.
Thousands of children were affected from earthquake that occurred in 2015. In-spite of heavy support from the government, the supports have not been able to reach in grass-root level. Families with or without children migrated in urban settlement or from one place to another for better survival opportunities. Several number of children had to leave schools in their home village. As such children are deprived from education. The project has targeted to such children for their school continuity.
Education for all is global slogan. In no any circumstance no children should be out of schools. The project has aimed to fulfill the global campaign for education. And once the children are resettle in new schools, advocacy can be maintained for their continuity in schools and public schools will be requested to make them free. As per the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, as mentioned in Article 28(a), education should be free and compulsory. State party has to respect the provision.
The project will help to create advocacy on the campaign for Education for All. In Nepal education is still not yet free nor it is compulsory. Along with the support for limited earthquake affected children, a campaign again can be started to drag the attention of the government and make enough investment on education as per norms of international standard of investment on education by the government. Due to lower percentage of total budget of the government on education, children are deprived.
