A school in Liberia for children living in poverty

Over the summer, we got busy collecting school supplies and sanitary items for the kids we support in Liberia. We are happy to report that the supplies made it safely to Liberia and the team distributed them to six schools in impoverished communities. Most amazingly, the team had to travel across the St. John River, via canoe, to distribute supplies to our newest beneficiary school, the Edina Public School. Edina is a small rural town located outside of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County in Liberia. 

We want to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who continues to support the cause and our goal of building a school for children living in poverty.

After several very successful supplies drives, we shipped a consignment of school supplies and sanitary items to Liberia on May 25^th. The supplies have arrived in Liberia safely and will be distributed among school children in need, especially children that were impacted by Ebola. Some of the items collected included, notebooks, pens/pencils, backpacks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, soaps, deodorants, and toiletries.

Most of the items collected was made possible by employees of UTC Aerospace Systems, in Charlotte, NC, after a week long drive hosted by the African American Forum (AAF) group. We also want to thank all our supporters and volunteers for making this initiative a success and for the continued support.
