Providing Scholarship for Graduate Study in India (1066)

 

Progress Report for the quarter ending 30th Sept, 2010

 

The Dhanpatmal Virmani Education Trust started the R. N. Virmani Endowment in the year 2002. The purpose of scheme was to award scholarships to Indian Nationals for graduate studies in all fields, irrespective of caste, creed or community and to encourage meritorious and needy students to pursue higher studies. Those who come from a family with an annual income of less than Rs 1, 00,000/- US $ 2,200, are amongst the top five in the final class XII Board Examination and get admission into any professional or technical college are eligible.

There has been a marked improvement in the students performance in this quarter

One of our Sr. School Students, Mr. Piyush Goel who was studying in XII th Class had been awarded Rs. 25,000/- for attending the entrance classes for IIT-JEE (Engineering) for one year classroom program in Sri Chaitanya Coaching Centre. This year, he got admission in Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Delhi for his B. Tech Course which is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indra prastha University, Delhi and another student.

 

Mr. Vikram Mishra is doing B.Tech from Northern India Engg. College, from the above University. He comes from a middle class family. He secured IInd rank with 76.4% marks in the school. The scholarship is really very helpful for him.

 

The following scholarship awardees have successfully, completed their course and their results declared during the above quarter.

2. Ram Sawroop Vig  C.A     The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi

                                                            April, 2010

                                    Employment- Presently, he is employed with Thermax Co. Ltd as

                                                            Chartered Accountant.

 After doing his C.A, he is drawing Rs.40, 000/- per month. He has thanked to the donors and the Trust, who has made his career.

 

3.   Gurpreet Singh   B.Tech Desh Bhagat Engineering College, Mandi Gobindgarh(Punjab)

                                                            June, 2010

 

            Employment- Presently, he is employed with M.Soft Co. Gurgoan(Haryana State)

                                                            He is drawing Rs. 10,000/- pm.

So far the trust has awarded   20 scholarships and 10 out of it have already completed their course.

Those who have completed their course successfully have thanked the trust as it was a immense help to them. Mr. Raj Kumar, who completed his Chartered Accountancy in the year 2008 has joined a Govt. Company and has been drawing Rs. 35,000/- per month. He wrote a letter to the chairman of the trust. “The scholarship was an immense help to him, otherwise he would have not completed his C. A “He further mentioned “I am extremely thankful to all the members of the trust for providing me the financial support, actually when I needed much”. Similarly all the other scholarship awardees who have passed out have thanked the management of the trust and particularly of donors for making their careers.

We have a plan to award scholarships at least to four students this year and in this regard, we have already received some applications which are under process.

We thank all our well wishers and supporters for their donations and request them to also help us with constructive ideas and thoughts to take this program forward.
