We care 500 deliveries and about 50 sick babies every month at our Neonatal unit. 10% of them die of Birth Asphyxia, Premature birth, Neonatal sepsis, Pneumonitis or Congenital malformation. Birth asphyxia cause (50%) of all deaths followed by Prematurity (20%) and the rest accounting for 30% of all deaths. Supporting our skilled attendants, warm rooms, Kangaroo mother care, timely feeding and medication has not saved as many lives. Hope your help will reduce death toll from 10% to 5%.
Perinatal deaths is one challenge women and families face. After caring for a pregnancy for 9 months at the end the baby dies. Some have suffered psychological trauma and depression and especially for mothers getting their babies above 35 years. Some have suffered some infertility or bad experiences in the past. Hope, at least 5 out of 10 mothers with such problem get their babies alive. Conversely, the number of perinatal deaths and street children will decrease in our societies.
