The gender parity in education attainment is gradually reducing, girls & women still have low literacy levels compared to men. This constrain women's economic empowerment by manifesting in poverty & abuse of rights. This restricts their participation in paid work & viable economic opportunities. Lack of skills, knowledge & information limit adoption of modern farming methods, processing & marketing of produce. Women face constraints related to child care, financial literacy & employment.
This project will address multitudes of barriers in a holistic and integrated ways through livelihood skills development, education, inclusion of men as stakeholders, markets & financial access, building on local opportunities and resources through careful planning, design and mobilization of women, access to sexual reproductive health information & services, promotion of gender roles equality and transformation in the communities.
There will be increased social and economic empowered women who are creating employment opportunities and taking leadership roles to address social problems facing girl child, their households & communities. Improved women's access of resources, extension and financial services especially for the direct project beneficiaries. Both men and boys will activity support gender roles and appreciates sexual reproductive health services and family planning.
