We are one step closer to getting the feasibility study underway for the railroad station. We just issued the Request for Proposals for the historic structure feasibility study and are looking forward to submissions that are this week. A feasibility study is required in order to apply for state and federal funding. Additionally, the completed study will provide us with more detailed information about the station's condition, in order to give us a better understanding of how much work and funds are needed to complete the overall project.
In the meantime, we've cleaned out the interior of the station and around the exterior. It looks so much better! Check out the attached photo of the new sign we also placed on the each end of the station.
Donations still needed in order to cover the required match of state and federal funding, which varies by program. We hope you'll spread the work of our work and efforts to rehabilitate the historic 1849 Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad station into a community and visitors center and a gateway to the Viaduct Valley Way Scenic Byway.
