With Spring upon us, at least by the calendar, we have Spring Fever to move ahead with our railroad station project. We are one step closer than our previous update from December. We are working with our partners to get the feasibility study underway for the station. A feasibility study is needed in order to apply for state and federal funding and will provide us with more specific details about the condition of the station. This will give us a better understanding of how much work, and funds, will be needed to complete the project.
While we'll work with our partners and apply for state and federal funding in the future to rehabilitate the historic building into a community/visitors center and a gateway to the Viaduct Valley Way Scenic Byway, donations will still be needed. State and federal funding, which is more limited than in previous years, still requires a match, either in cash or in-kind donations (depends on program), and these donations will help to leverage state and federal funding as the required match.
We continue to have an open dialogue with our stakeholders and will continue to work hard to bring this historic railroad station back to life and the center of the community. We hope you'll spread the word of our project.
Thank you for your continued support!
