Poverty, gender discrimination and exploitation are three major critical factors which undermines women's well being and progress in many developing nations. Statistics shows that Feminisation of poverty is quite alarming In India.This project recognizes self-employment initiatives for poor women must go beyond 'Training and capacity building " This project will mainstream 1000 women technical , financial, marketing, soft skills on eco friendly daily utilities on Jute and cloth bags.
It has been widely recognized that investing in economic empowerment would result in Gender equality, poverty eradication for women. Despite many entrepreneurship initiatives the convergence rate of women as entrepreneurs is low. Majority of women lack technical skills financial literacy for their business, marketing skills etc. Hence scaling up of womens micro business is always a nightmare. This project aims to train stregthen 1000 underprivilledged women on Jute ,cloth utilities.
Women from underprivileged communities such as SC/STs , single headed women , widows , young girls who dropped out from schools will be identified and preferred for training Mobilisation through media , meetings at slums, towns and villages distribution of pamphlets about the significance of women entrepreneurship /employment and safeguarding the environment A selection committee comprising of any government representatives, funding organisation will be formed for selecting candidates
The proposed social enterprise project on Jute not only consider economic empowerment alone, but also empowering 1000 women more generally-improving their ability to access the fundamental elements of development: happiness, health, education, rights, and social and political participation. Through technical training the project would ensure a overall paradigm shift in reducing women's poverty through employment and self employment
