The percentage of infants and women suffering from anaemia and malnutrition is higher in Odisha as compared to other States of India. According to a survey, out of 1.40 crore people suffering from anaemia and malnutrition in the State, around 30 lakh are infants below six years of age and 60 per cent of them are girl children
The project will provide poultry birds and quail birds for production and consumption of eggs and meat. Quail eggs are very good sources of vitamins and minerals and can be rear easily under small cage. Vegetable garden will be also developed under this project at household level which will provide vitamins and minerals at regular interval to women and children.
The project will eradicate malnutrition problem of 500 tribal women and children in odisha,which will provide for their families' health and well-being.
