The Beena Kalambayi is facing an alarming high rate of infantile and maternal mortality according to WHO. There's only one small healthcare center in the entire territory, which is built of clay, faces a state of very advanced dilapidated and deteriorated medical equipment and lack of beds, but instead mats are placed on the sand floor. There is no delivery room, lack of sanitary facilities and clean water.
This project will help to improve lives of 120,000 inhabitants in which 70% are women and children, with two completely built, renovated, equipped and extended healthcare centers which will include decent sanitary rooms to improve sanitation problems and a new maternity facility with a capacity of 15 beds or more with a new modern delivery table to reduce the motherhood and childhood mortality rate.
As result these new and renovated healthcare centers will provide services on immunization, integrated management of child hood illnesses, common and uncomplicated deliveries, and rarely management of non-communicable disease. In addition, they would also form a data base upon which further studies can be carried out.
