Our foundation supports children around the world. At present, we are assisting two sets of children in Thailand. The first is children that have been sexually or physically abused or abandoned. The second set is children that have been born with the HIV virus. With the abused kids, we need to build several additional houses to shelter them. We have run out of space! With the HIV infected children, we need to fix their current facility.
At the facility that supports children with HIV, we have several problems. Foremost is that the plumbing has deteriorated and needs immediate repair. Since we teach the kids to be self-sufficient, we also need additional support staff and farming equipment. In an agro-culture, it is very important that they have the ability to grow their own food. At the abused/abandoned child facility, we need to build at least three additional homes. Each house handles 8 children. We have 24+ arriving
Our success rate with the children born with HIV has improved from about 10% to 93%. However, these kids need to learn how to live on their own once they leave our care. Support for this project allows us to assure they get that training. Our success rate for the sexually exploited, the physically abused and the abandoned children has improved from 10% in 1985 to 90% in 2019. We need spaces for the additional children which your support will provide.
The long term impact is difficult to express in a few words. One of our handicapped kids from 1985, now a full grown adult, will be visiting us here in the USA and can describe in person how our work affected him. He won the Rotary award of Paul Harris Fellow because of all that he did after our assistance. He will be speaking at Rotary clubs as I take him from FL up to NY in April/May 2020. If you have interest in hearing him, please contact us
