SHOW ME YOUR LIFE

Safe House Art & Storytelling save valuable lives
Safe House Art & Storytelling save valuable lives

Show Me Your Life, a safe house program for sexually abused and sexually exploited boys, has had a busy few months and managed to gain strength - thanks to your amazing support.

The first decision we made flowed from not being able to secure enough funds to buy a dedicated safe house for young survivors. So we used every dollar donated to strengthen the survivor-led and peer-mentored international online art and storytelling program, which provides chronically neglected boys with a safe place to share their stories and empirical knowledge, develop skills to advocate for their human rights and raise the quality of their lives.

The most recent group to join SHOW ME YOUR LIFE is based in Kenya. http://smash-street-boys.org

Over the summer work steamed ahead on the creation of Tristan's Moon, a dedicated art gallery built to house and exhibit the imagery and stories shared in SHOW ME YOUR LIFE. The first art installation and exhibition will open in October 2013 in Upstate New York. Some work in progress photographs have been posted at http://smashstreetboys.org/Page_7.php

We have been thrilled to welcome to Show Me Your Life, high students in NYC (as part of their Community Service school credits). They will be sharing their skills to strengthen the safe house program (creating social media platforms, editing and creating imagery and poetry, researching child rights).

One major obstacle to raising the lives of chronically at risk boys is poverty and the means for survivors to raise awareness and prevent futher boys from experiencing neglect and violence. All donations of hardware / software (cameras, ipads, smart phones, laptops, photo and video editing software, etc) are warmly welcome and are put to immediate use.

May I take this opportunity to thank you once again for your remarkable gift.

The world is changed by individuals. You are one of them.
