ASSESSMENT OF ACHIEVEMENTS
The hygiene campaign in the school was successful. The pupils and teachers showed a lot of enthusiasm. They were sensitized on good hygiene practices like hand washing with soap. Some parents also attended and they were very impressed.
The school received hygiene items i.e 3 hand washing units and 20 litre plastic water containers which will continue to be used to ensure proper hand washing and storage of clean water from the protected spring.
Education and information communication materials A2 posters were distributed to School and neighboring community ensuring a sustained approach to reduce hygiene / Sanitation related disease like diaohorea reported in the community.
The VHT (Village Health Teams) and local leaders used in distribution of awareness materials pledged to ensure improved hygiene standards.
There is a high demand for the project in other schools and villages yet the coverage was limited due to the available funding.
